I watched the Oscars last night...the whole thing! My favorite parts are the flash backs and the who has dies over the last year part. It always makes me a little misty. I like to imagine what it would be like if I won an Oscar. I think it would go a little something like this...
George Clooney would be reading the nominees for Best Actress in a Leading Role. When he gets to my name I would be in the little gold box smiling and clapping. Then he would say "and the Oscar goes to....Amanda Schlarbaum!" The box would then become full screen and my eyes would be huge and my mouth would drop open, I would mouth something like No Way or Shut Up! I would stand up and give Brad and Angelina a huge hug (they were there to bring awareness to some cause) I would then turn to my date (who's hot like fire and looks great in tux) and hug and kiss him. I am wearing a stunning Vera Wang and my hair is pulled up into a ponytail of sorts and as I walk out to the isle Johnny Depp stands and pats my shoulder as I walk by. I get a congratulations from one of the other excellent nominees from my category. As I get to the front row I see Jack Nicholson who gives me 2 thumbs up....I am imagining that under those dark sunglasses he is winking as well. I get to the stairs and hold up the bottom of my dress so I don't trip. It's your first time at the Oscars, you don't want to trip up the stairs! I get to the podium and George hugs and kisses me (George and I go back, we worked on the film together) and hands me the Oscar. I look at the Oscar and say Are you sure I won? I mean it was just an honor to be nominated, to be put in a category with all of these amazing actors was a dream come true. I didn't think i would win....I am sorry i didn't prepare a speech. Wow, he's a lot heavier then I thought! I would like to thank my family ad friends for all there love and support over the years...um, I would also like to thank the Academy, the cast and crew without them non of this would have happened. To get to work with George Clooney was amazing....he is very much a jokster on the set! (by this time I would be crying and shaking) Thank you all so much, someone pinch me...I've got to be dreaming, George then comes over and pinches my shoulder, the crowd starts laughing. Then the music starts playing and I say thank you again....I love you all! I exit the stage Oscar in hand and on George's arm.

It's kinda gross and little bit blurry....
but that's a camera phone for you!
So about a week or so ago I was at work and I managed to cut my finger pretty bad. So, After waiting till the cookies came out of the oven and putting away the buttercream I drove down to the medical center. I would call it a hospital but frankly you don't want them to do anything but set bones and stitches...if that! I got there and was there for probably 2 and a half hours, just waiting to be stitched up and checked out. So, 3 stitches later I was on my way home. My boss gave me the rest of the day off, so I went home and watched Heros season 1, excellent show. This last Thursday I got them removed and looks like we are healing up well!
I also this last week had to take Murphy to the vet. Turns out he has and infected sist and got some antiboitics. I thought he had tick and the vet told me it was another sist but all I needed to do was pop it. I told her that was gross....ewww! But he is also healing up well!
Be excited....I finally bought a digital camera! So, now I can post pictures that weren't taken on my camera phone! I know I'm pretty excited too! It's coming in the mail this week!
Last night I spent about an hour or so talking with my friend Joe who I worked with at Starbucks in NY. He was telling me about this article in The Tennessean (Nashville's paper) about Starbucks. I am always defending Starbucks out here in Telluride along with trying to explain why I love it so much. No one understands unless they have hung out at Starbucks. I always tell people that when I moved to Memphis my sister and we went almost every morning for her tall 2 pump nonfat with whip mocha or a unsweetened black iced tea which I usually got. In NY Molly and I went every morning after we graduated and sat in the comfy chairs and talked with the cops who were also there. I usually stuck to my Iced venti unsweetened green tea lemonade and she usually got a grande cinnamon happiness (aka cinnamon dolce latte) If ever there was some sort of drama in our lives we went to Starbucks to talk it out. If one of us was sick we would bring the other a drink. Most of the time it was a reason to get out of bed! He told me to read this article and I thought you all might like to read it as well. I am not sure how to post a link but here is the address for it. http://www.tennessean.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2008802170324

No worries.....
it's still snowing! It's not that I don't like the snow. Snow is great! It's just that it always feels like Christmas!
I finally got Murphy a retractable leash I think he likes it. When we come inside from our walk, I will get halfway up the stairs and he will be waiting at the bottom for me to tug on the leash. I am not sure if he gets it yet.
Work is finally picking up! So, I wont be so bored. With Valentines day we should be busy for about a week, who knows after that.
I didn't watch the Superbowl cause I really could care less about it. I spent my Superbowl sunday watching Celebrity Rehab, which just like every celebrity reality show...they are hardly celebrities. My weekend was pretty boring, I spent most of it watching TV and talking on the phone. Work this last weekend was alright, Sunday was frustrating cause everything I touched either broke or didn't work out. I hate those days. I was making buns for this Superbowl party, it was a recipe I have never used and my boss who knows it was in Canada skiing. Turns out the flour I used was too Gluteny (even thought the recipe calls for high gluten flour) and the buns looked like over sized dinner rolls. But they used them anyway cause it was for mini roast beef sandwhiches. Someone bought out the restuarant for the evening for the Superbowl. That costs around $5,000 to $10,000 and I believe that doesn't include food or drinks.
